Port forwarding

Hi, does anyone have any experience with port forwarding? Don’t seem to be able to save a new rule or protocol, just doesn’t save, not sure if I have a setting wrong elsewhere which is preventing this?

any help please!

If you don't know what ports need forwarding & the device manufacturer doesn't either, we can't tell you what they should be. EE block no outgoing ports. Port forwarding is only needed for unsolicited access to incoming ports. I would say:

If no port forwarding was needed with Sky, nor would it be with EE.
Ports 80 (HTTP) & 443 (HTTPS) are used for Web Servers (as you often see in your browsers) & are almost always used for outgoing ports (unless you yourself are running a Web Server on a PC). So if your device manufacturer is mentioning them he is almost certainly talking only about outgoing ports & clearly doesn't know what port forwarding is.

All the same, show me the Port Forwarding page filled in with what you tried but it wouldn't Save.

Press "Show Device".
Ports 80 - 443 (364 in total) is probably far too many for a router to handle.
Then press "Save" & show it refusing.

Yeah, also tried 80-80 160 in total and every other combination of the numbers I sent you but still will not save. You populate all the boxes, press the save button, it goes yellow, but unlike changing any other settings you don’t get the coloured highlighted box immediately above it letting you know it is saving, it just does nothing?

You don't seen to understand. Ports 80 - 80 is a range of 1, not 160. You don't add them, you subtract them & add 1.

Would you do as I asked & post an image of the result?
