    <description>&lt;P&gt;Rang EE support, not much help, they did a line test for errors but the line is good just an error from the equipment. Problem is they kept saying it could be the username and password but I tried to point out before that point the modem needs to physically connect to the exchange which is not happening.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Might try leaving the line disconnected for 15 min or so and see if that kicks the DSLAM into new mode, otherwise I'll have to switch ISP within the 14 days cooling off period &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":disappointed_face:"&gt;😞&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Used my modem and router from TALKTALK now moved to EE Broadband and configured settings as per the screenshots.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Mustrum blanked the username in the image.... its the format &lt;A href="mailto:PRODUCTIONHQNUN123123123@fs" target="_blank"&gt;PRODUCTIONHQNUN123123123@fs&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;(lowercase fs but guessing usernames not case sensitive) password is HQNPASS123123123 the start in uppercase.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Changed the modem to PPPoE but still no IP address from DHCP to the router WAN, it still has 169.254.x.x and showing the internet disconnected. Still getting "waiting for PADO packet" from the modem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Might google how to get a command line from the modem and see if there are any commands to use.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I presume they don't have any mac filtering or anything you have ask to unblock with ee ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Always worth having one as the Help Desk will have little experience of using anything else, unless you are very lucky!&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Just going back to some basics, which service/speeds did you go for?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Are you getting a DSL light on the modem?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;mustrum went for the full fibre vdsl. When you log onto the modem there is no connection to ee at all, just sits on training then ready. Think it's at the physical layer before the authentication can begin. There is no line speed or SN info nothing, and the router status log keeps sayig "waiting for PADO packet" every minute or so but no IP address. work from home so need my mesh wifi back, they tell me there is a 14 day cooling off period so I have till 4 nov to decide&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Full Fibre can be up to 1Gbps download.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;When in bridge mode I would not expect the modem to tell you much, other than a DSL light.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;So what about the EE router? Do you have one, or asked for one&amp;gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;sorry meant vdsl but the faster package.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The EE router works fine but the signal is poor in the dining room and the doorbell can't see it at all, that's why I bought my own and setup mesh so have one upstairs and one downstairs and that's what I want to get working&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Draytek modem gives you some info through the GUI but there is a command line tool where you can get more info. It's just not seeing anything on the telco side. Modem goes from ready to training but sees nothing, no snr no packets sent received and the router just kicks out waiting for PADO packet every minute or so.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Wiki has a good write up and says as part of the PPP protocol the client sends out a PADI packet with it's MAC address but it's not getting the PADO reply. It's like the DSLAM is ignoring my own modem.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The faster VDSL2 package is called Fibre Plus, not Full Fibre.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Your issue must lie with the modem.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Here's someone who got a Vigor 130 working on Fibre Plus (VDSL2);&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/pfSense-or-own-router-and-Vigor-130-ADSL-modem/m-p/1034504" target="_blank"&gt;https://community.ee.co.uk/t5/Broadband-Landline/pfSense-or-own-router-and-Vigor-130-ADSL-modem/m-p/1034504&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Yeah tried those settings and PPPoE as well as PPPoA&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When you ring tech support they can only do a line test, can't reset the DSLAM or anything in the exchange.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tried disconnecting the new EE router for over an hour then put the old draytek back but still the same, it trains but no line info at all, therefore, the PPPoE authtication is irrelevant without the physical done first.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hate to do this but might have to scurry back to TT on Saturday as that did work ok.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Will update when I know more but to rule out the vigor 130 I have ordered the vigor 167 as the newer model seems to have more options like authentication on the modem rather than the router.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If it works I will post back with screenshots&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks all for the help&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;OK update time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;EE would not extend my free cancellation period and I was working away, since some here were using 3rd party devices decided to take a risk and buy another modem, this time the vigor 167.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;Just set it up this afternoon and all working, so somehow during the switch over something on the line killed my vigor 130 as it had been working years beforehand.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Plugged the new vigor 167 in and it was working out the box, connected to the router and that was setup as per the first screen with CHAP auth and username password from EE.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The Vigor get's better speed at the moment, the ee router was 10MB up and 39MB down, the vigor right now is 13MB up and 44MB down so a little better.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
