Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

You don't have FTTP (Fibre to the Premises). You have FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) which ends at your house with the normal copper landline from the cab.

1. Post your full router stats:

For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings > System > DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.

For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs.

Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

2. What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

New fibre contract without a fibre connection

I recently upgrade my EE broadband to fibre to the house with landline thinking I would get a new fibre connection plus router. I've been notified that the new service is operational but I'm still on the old twin copper connection with the same old EE router. Naturally I feel short changed! Can someone explain how EE can say I have FFTP over twin copper?

@Rick3021 , what monthly price are you paying for fibre? I have fibre, but still on the old copper wire.

You would not be able to have landline with the much faster fibre connection, so you should be on the one with up to 38 Mpbs speed.
