Hi all,

I was ordering an iPhone the other day and to sweeten it, EE reckoned they could beat my current BT Broadband price to make the contract easier to burden. I pay £36.99/m on BT for 35mbps (max my line can handle due to other circumstances) and they said £24 for the same package.

Fair enough up until now…

They then said that they could just switch my contract over from BT to them with no fees even though I have like, 23months left of the BT contract. Anybody had any experience with this? Been with BT for a long time but when I moved they switched my contract from expiring in March next year to a new 2year contract as they said it’s the usual…

Thanks in advance!

I would be highly dubious about BT waiving early termination charges, and would want to see that in writing before agreeing anything.

That said, the rate you are paying BT seems too high, its more like their out of contract rate, or do you also have a calls package?

No problem with it being a new 24month contract. Was just wondering how they can claim to just move my contract over to them.

Yeah this is what prompted me to start a post on here. It all feels a bit odd. The operator on the phone was very confident that they can just switch the package over to them.

I don’t know whether there’s a push to get customers onto EE Broadband or something so BT are allowing it. Just wondered if anybody else had had this experience.

The rate definitely feels high for the speed. I am paying the same amount as I used to for 76mbps. I do have Halo now though which bumped it up slightly. £32.99 is the actual cost. Almost £1/mbps 😞

EE will pay up to £50 of your Early Cancellation Fees upon sight of your previous ISP's bill showing them. You can claim this online @ Broadband Contract Buyout from Old ISP.

£24 pm is EE's current standard price to EE mobile custs for EE Fibre (capped at 40 Meg) w/out landline.

You can't just have a contract moved from 1 ISP to another. It is a BB migration between ISPs where the BB line & contract is auto ceased with the previous ISP & a new BB line & contract is started with the new ISP, possibly keeping the same landline no. if 1 is involved.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.
