I took out broadband which is due to switch on, on the 10 august. I received an email stating;

You should have received your following broadband equipment(s) by post (along with instructions on setting up your broadband).

EE wireless router

does this mean I should have received it already. Because I haven’t, nor have I had any tracking details?

EE aim to send out routers so they arrive on the day before your "go live" date at the latest.

There is no reason why that msg was couched in the past tense.
