is EE broadband fast? As I’ve had problems with my broadband and refuse to resign my new contract with current provider.

As fast as the best of them! Depends what's available in your area.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

As @XRaySpeX says it's as good as any. A lot depends on how you get your internet connection today... Checking the BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker will tell us what is available from OpenReach.

I assume you are probably on ADSL or VDSL (FTTC) which are very dependant on the quality and length of the BT OpenReach line that connects you, if that's the case changing ISP won't make much difference. It's more likely that the quality of customer service is more important if you are having technical problems... Andrews and Arnold are very good but costs are high, there are recent "Which" reports that help with rating ISP and their service.

If you can get Full Fibre (FTTP) then that will give you the fastest connection and most likely give the best reliability.

Posting the results of the BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker will show what types of connection via OpenReach are available at your property.

There are other "alt nets" that are building full fibre, hopefully you would have heard from them if they are active in your area.
