Ive tried lots of different things from changing the password on 2.4ghz from the 5ghz,to see if recognise differently, it doesnt, it wont change the bands independently. tried disable the 5ghz, it just turns your broadband off from the router, i had to connect through my mobile to tether to get internet on my laptop to power so i could change my 5ghz back on to enable. A simple thing that needs to happen and EE cant even give you the option to change, my hub is the black one with 5ghz only, so will be on the phone tomorrow to them to get it sorted out, trying to install security cameras with 2.4ghz only... doing my head in

There is no black EE router with 5GHz only. You either have:

The EE Smart Hub where the bands are combined by default, but you may separate them by a single setting.

The EE BrightBox 2 where the bands are already separated.

The router is 5ghz only, and it's security cameras that won't accept dual banded, just 2.4ghz on its own. I've tried to turn 5ghz off, it turns router off altogether and lose broadband. So can't bypass with ethernet. Tried to change passwords on 2ghz & 5ghz independently as to just sign in with 2.4ghz doesn't work mate, looks like iam either going to have to change router, broadband provider or go through the hassle of sending products back to amazon and hope nothing else I buy is in future is 2.4ghz only. What's Strange is my Toshiba TV is connected to 2.4ghz just these cameras won't connect and I've saw ring doorbells are the same!

Yeah I think your correct, I hope I don't confuse anyone.

I might have a different router from the one you mentioned. Black 5ghz

But I've tried to go in and connect online via

ip address , admin: > password, wireless settings: I tried to disable 5ghz so 2ghz would have been on its own but it wouldn't connect as it disabled my broadband connection, I had to reset router to get it to work again.

I tried to change 2ghz password to be different from 5ghz but my security camera would not recognise it, said only works with 2.4ghz so presumed it was connecting to 5ghz

Think I need a different dual banded router as to connect to 2.4ghz on its own ?

Any help appreciated if iam making sense

What is its model name? This should be stated on a label on its back. If you can't find it or don't know, post an image of it.
