Hi

I'm looking to check my router settings but I'm unable to connect to the above page. Access to the internet and online services are fine, but it's just this page.

I get the below error and I don't understand why this is. I really don't want to reset the router

```
This site can’t be reached
192.168.1.254 took too long to respond.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
```

Which router do you have? Just checking. Only the EE Smart Hub & Router login at 192.168.1.254.

BT routers in UK tend to use 192.168.1.254.
I've had 5 of them, all with this address.

Weirdly, a neighbour has the same route/hub as me. His Samsung phone (on EE) can't connect to the 254 address, with this same error.
My Motorola (also on EE) can

It because you need to type http://192.168.1.254

When you just type the IP address your browser is assuming it is a secure connection and so is using https instead of http. Once you have typed the http://192.168.1.254 and it connects you won't need to type the http:// bit again as the browser will remember the router is using http and not https

Not all browsers!

Also this thread is over 2 years old & the login to the latest EE routers has changed to a secure connection of https://192.168.1.254

Yes you are quite right, older routers use http and newer use the secure version https.

Kudos and a thumbs up for pointing that out.
