Routers are designed to be left on at all times, and rebooting them too often, or switching them off can lead to DLM (Dynamic Line Management - the service in the exchange/cabinet designed to keep giving you the best line speeds) reducing your speeds.

In addition the most stress and wear on electronic devices occurs ar switch on, so again do it too often and it can lead to early failure.

So best practise, is leave them on.

I can't believe nobody has asked this before - I have always turned off my router at night believing this would prevent anyone accessing any of my devices fraudulently (though they are also turned off). Now I have a Smart Hub and have been turning that off (just by using the on/off switch) too each night. My Smart TV has been awkward lately and I am wondering if that is wifi linked - I have always turned that (TV) off at the socket every night as well. Now I have been told that I should leave the wifi on all the time. I've looked online for which is best and get conflicting info. Can someone tell me definitively - do I turn off or leave on? TV and/or Smart Hub? Thanks in advance.

Awkward TV, hmmm, might need a touch more detail to provide help on that.. 🤔

As @Mustrum says they are designed to be left on all the time, but just switching off/on once per day is not going to affect the DLM.

Switching the TV off, rather than standby, while it is un-viewed is only going to break its WiFi connection to the router, but this is quite usual & expected. I do it all the time & the WiFi picks up whenever I next need it.
