We have registered our move which should happen on the 30th. All sorted with contract etc. At the new house we noticed the power cable to the Open Reach equipment was taken by previous owner. I reported this and asked for a new cable to be sent, which I was told and engineer was needed, but can't be booked for day of transfer. Due to unknown timings of the switch, which I understand. I said can it be booked for the 31st then, I was told no. After swap we send a link for a call back to arrange an engineer. Which obviously by then the engineers will all be booked out on jobs. Which there qas no answer, apart from use the call back link. Unfortunately I was talking to a brick wall about arranging the engineer. Also Can my severe deafness be used as a priority call?

@Ciborg23 If you want to get one while you have to wait then the link below will work, you do have to wait until the EE activation date, then deal with any OR delays, it's the way unfortunately.

Ok thanks Jim. Have ordered one and plug in when it arrives. Hopefully it might speed things up on activation day. I'll probably ring them for an update in the week.

@Ciborg23 Just do not understand why people take the PSU with them, it may also delay your activation when OR transfer's the connection across for you and finds the ONT not operational, i know my sister got a 14day delay for such a reason when connecting up to EE first time. You can only get the PSU that you purchased asap on the ONT and see what happens, hopefully everything goes smooth.👍

There's a sticker on it that says do not remove. Luckily we are decorating the property before, and moving in bit by bit. When I saw the box without a power cable I thought **bleep**, as we have the same system in our primary house. The power cable is being delivered tomorrow so hopefully once plugged in will see some lights, and no smoke 😂 then positive things Friday and Saturday.......maybe.....

@Ciborg23 Did think about wonder if there is one you have, but doing so stops that working, not sure when OR does the check to see if ONT is up and awake but get it plugged in asap, there should be no smoke, 12Vd.c operation and all centre positive on the plug connection.
