topic Smarthub 7 plus oddities in Broadband & Landline

Just moved back to EE from Plusnet as we wanted to keep our landline phone so now have the Smarthub 7 plus and tried to set up reserved IP addresses by MAC. This sort of works - at least better than Plusnet's hub which did not do it at all. But I wanted to change device names and was surprised to find that, whilst I can change IP addresses and lock them using the Hub Manager, I can only change device names by using the app on my phone. This has been reported here several times. I noticed yesterday that a beta version of Hub Manager was available so tried that but, despite this issue having been reported two years ago and more, it is still not available. How useless!
I have also found that some device names are not copying across to the hub - is there a limit on how many devices can have names? Also, although both hub manager and app say that they are showing all connected devices, they aren't but there is a difference in which ones they show! Any advice on how to sort this - or find a workaround?

@bellringer65 To change device names you have to use the EE App to do so, not everything works changing so it's a bit off suck it and see, do the change then see what takes effect with the WiFi manager interface.

Welcome to the EE world, the wheels on the bus turn ever so slowly.... Beta version is just so new now out and around two weeks old, will take YEARS to get it all working right if true to form.

Further explanation or screen capture for the what/were connected/not connected would be needed for any advice, most trust the web manager, smart wireless extenders are a wing/prayer as to what shows app normally falls over just reporting devices all offline but web manager may catch them correctly.
