Its for my mother and fathers house 95 and 91, they inherited a 24 month EE
contract for £60 a month when they took over from BT, they should never
have been sold that in the first place. They do not have one smart piece of
equipment in the house and need the connection exclusively so they have a
land line to speak to family. Now they have an additional £5 added as their
contract expired. The EE shop sold me the FF package for them, the
situation was fully explained but I never got offered a phone only plan
which I now understand is an option, nor was I advised there was a home
essentials tariff for elderly and low income households, so yes deceit and
greed are awful things. Will I get a refund, no.

My Standard contract expired on 5th August so i signed a new contract the same day for full fibre.

Was told 2 to 3 weeks until installation, received an email yesterday 5th October informing me the installation date is now 4th January 2027. 5 months wait and my current monthly bill has increased by £5 to £65 per month as my new full fiber £31.99 per month contract wont start until it is installed. The whole concept was sold to me as a more cost effective way of having broadband in my house. Tell me how EE can discount my bill until this installation happens. It all seems very wrong to me.

You are now well outside the cooling off period so committed for 24 months, but do say what package EE has applied, there are four off them now from the core to the ultimate.

BT Broadband

Not regrade, my contract ended. The new offer was FF for a lot less and
within the conversation 2/3weeks was the estimate. The road already has FF,
my house needs bigger ducting and an engineer has already confirmed the
work with me. My gripe is the 5 months of excessive payments until Jan 27,
when they should have been halved in the middle of August.

Only you can say but you need the conformation as documented.

Would advise you to contact EE CS and clarify what has been done for you, some homes here have waited over 18 months to get Fibre across to them due to an OR oops with 40 homes and duct's, still going on piecemeal installations.... You may be lucky and the conversation has a recording as to what was said and agreed also.

@PeterToni1806 That may be the problem, is attached to the Broadband for the phone a call package as that can easily addon £25 to the Broadband price, and not doing the move away every 24months it soon adds up, so staying with BT for years then moving to EE they do keep the current pricing going along.

EE are not in the business of lowering the price and doing the shop is just not a good way, you are possibly going to be paying that £65 for the whole 24months. Do not even think that EE does a landline only package, BT might but you would need to do the call, EE also does NOT do a low income that is purely BT for that one.

As civils are involved to get the Fibre installed, that can/will delay the whole process so Jan is what it is.
