I am having full fibre installed soon but i am turning down earlier appointments to install because euipment [ router ] hasnt been delivered yet is this normal?

@TrueblueJoel Why are you turning it down? What EE Hub do you have currently in use also? See the current ones linked below and say which is yours. 2nd link if you have one that is a little older.

I dont have a current ee hub,i am a new customer,i selected a certain date for installation because my contract is ending with my present provider,but ive had several communications with openreach offering an earlier installation date ive had to turn all dates down because i am awaiting delivery of Router that is with my package

@TrueblueJoel Then you are correct to do so, EE will send the Hub few day's before the date that they have given so unless EE and OR get together you are best to wait, if you are/were using your own hub easy to do but you do not say so cannot advise from what you have posted so far.

I did an accelerated install 5 day's changing from EE to sky, because OR could do it then was no issue but using my own Equipment on the connection. Have you tried contacting EE CS to see if they can send you the Router now?

If you are a BT cust with a BT Smart Hub 2 go for it now, it works on EE and does all that is required for both BB and DV if you are taking such also with your package.

OR should be able to get everything installed ahead off time, inform EE that it is all done, but as EE is the gaining provider until they activate you on X date, the other BB should stay up working fine, little bit off a gamble if it does not work out that way, other side is OR cannot do it when you wish because you are holding out for another ISP due to a contract run down that YOU are trying to do.....

If it was me i would be having OR install asap especially if they have the availability to get it done now, there diary may just be chocka for your other date your holding out for. Is this all OTS switched change over?

Thank you for your response i will wait for my original installation date
and await the arrival of hub[router from ee.Even on date of installation i
will still have several days of internet available from my soon to be
previous provider so all is good.Thanks again for answering my query.
