From time to time a Reward Card - maybe as much as £150 - is offered as part of a new customer sign-up to EE - e.g. when clicking through a comparison site. Unlike refunds of early exit fees these do work if coming from another BT group ISP.

Sometimes there are posts about not receiving the email but if you get a Giftcloud (or whoever) email when joining and wait - it says 140 days and seems to be after the 4th bill - an email should eventually arrive confirming the Reward.

This then has to be claimed and I was hoping for a supermarket voucher but the offer was only a pre-paid Mastercard - either physical (but you're charged for delivery and it might take a while to arrive) or immediate digital - via another site yourrewardpass

Without checking reviews for these sites I went for digital but just like the feedback it is tricky to find online places where the transaction goes through - for example trying to buy a supermarket gift card didn't work.

So to help anyone in this situation -

- firstly I'd consider a physical card - but of course I don't know how reliable that option is

- the digital card can be added to Amazon and used there

- the digital card can be added to Google Pay/Wallet (and Samsung) on a phone and this works on contactless in-store (but note there's no Apple pay option)

To add to the phone wallet - follow the link shown when looking at the card details on yourrewardpass
