OpenReach fittings have broken. Now what?

In late June 2026, an engineer came over to provide the cables for fibre. As expected, this required drilling into the wall. All seemed fine until I noticed today that the protective cover is coming off from over the inlet. As we're now seeing a lot of wind and rain, I do not want to risk damp in the walls.

Openreach don't take calls directly; an engineer can only be called out by your provider. The EE customer service options tree takes me to a prompt for the visual service. That prompts me to text a number that has me interacting with other bots, but this is targeted at diagnosing faults in the broadband service, not physical infrastructure.

I have requested a call back, but I take a lot of meetings for work, and I have no idea when it will happen. I don't want to mis sit and have to request another one. Last time I requested a call back, it never came. How do I get in touch with a person as a matter of urgency before I have lasting structural damage?

@whtbowers Then do GUIDE to 66033 as a text message, you should see on your mobile either one off the following two EE/BT Guide calling in your display, then you have the choice to pick-up or not.
