Elderly parent let a supposed EE engineer into house without appointment

They turned up unannounced with no appointment and were let into the house where they proceeded to fiddle with the router for an hour and take it to bits and put back together again. Then said there might be a problem or not and left.
This all sounds highly suspicious as there was no problem with internet before they arrived.
What do other people think about this?
Tried contacting EE on his behalf but I can't get through to them.

@porcupine456 If you cannot get to EE CS to check it all out, the Forum cannot do anything much at all for you. Use the contact details link as below any issues then the Police may be the best way to go, and do stress to the Elderly NEVER let anyone inside the Home especially if Unannounced visit. Have also linked the 2nd one so do take a look, about Guide visit's does not say if has to be 100% booked or not though!

Can't get through to customer service. All the numbers are automated and I eventually got in a queue for a real person but was waiting over an hour so had to give up for now.

Resolved. My Dad wasn't telling me the full story and I've now found the details of the engineer visit in his EE dashboard. He's very old and not with it.
