I have no problems with the PC and in fact the WiFi is exceptional. Downloading a 100GB game in 9 minutes is very worthwhile.

Prior to upgrading to this WiFi I had BT 900mb which was still good and on the PS5 downloads it was very strong. However with the EE WiFi I have intermittent issues. I will start downloading a game quickly but then it will become unresponsive. Attempting to pause and resume the download results in the download pausing for two to three minutes before freezing. When unpaused it will then increase from a 10-minute download to 39 hours.

I have attempted the following solutions:

- Both the PC and PS5 have Ethernet. I have tried wireless and the issue persists on the PS5.

- Changing between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.

- Changing the DNS.

- Creating a guest WiFi network and locking it to IPv4 on the 2.4 GHz band.

- Placing the PS5 in the DMZ.

Is there anything else I can try? I do not want to force everything to 2.4 GHz as it does not perform as well.

Can EE just enable full duel stacking. It would fix all the ps5 problems. Am I being stupid and missing out on an easy work around? I don’t really want to force everything to use IPv4 just to be able to download stuff on the Ps5.

@Northerner - there's been numerous complaints of slow PS5 and PS5 Pro game downloads following the r4.x firmware update (and complaints from Smart Hub 7 Plus customers on earlier firmwares).

According to the info in the post @JimM11 linked to, there's a fix in the r.5x firmware.

So question is, which firmware does @Zt28's hub have? If they don't have r5.x yet then it's probably a case of waiting if they don't want to use any of the suggested workarounds (full factory reset, or disabling IPv6 allocation in the Hub Manager).

@Zt28 Thanks for the reply, you are the first one that has stood up and said outright that iPv6 was going to be an overall issue, so well done to that..... I use Asus on the OR FF500 connection, but my daughter has a PS5 and although she does not download all the time she does so occasionally not that i know anything about that and there is no issue...

It would appear and as you say you are on the latest FW version for the 7 Pro hub you have and THAT version is alleged to have fixed the iPv6 thought to be issue from the release notes....

Fix - Issue affecting certain traffic/activities e.g. PS5 downloads/IPv6 applications

And although is a little bit to fathom out i think you have done all the combo's as wireless wifi....

May be a bit of a pain but have you or can you test direct Ethernet connection PS5 to the Pro Hub?

My son is an Avid gamer with both a PS5 Pro and a High Spec gaming PC, but i wired his gaming room all back Ethernet on the VM 10Gb/s Ethernet if there was one single issue he would be screaming DAD what's up with all off this, he does not so have to say NO issues at least only thing i remember he did was on his PS5 he did set google DNS at 8.8.8.8....

Edit:- did a quick inspection for daughters ps5 so on iPv4/6 assigned and she does filter through an Asus AP node, attached the picture when it does get cleared for viewing.

PS5 wireless connected through Asus RP-AX58 to XT8 in AI wireless mesh

If that works and you had better reboot everything once you sort the hub out to disable that, then EE CS is going to be your final place or tag one off the Forum Guides to draw attention to the post. If you do happen to have a BT SH2 quick connect and testing will rule out the PS5 which honestly do not think is an issue and then EE Hub is just not sorted out fully yet.

If you give either option a go then let us know how you get on as there's reference to PS5 download issues being fixed in the latest firmware notes (and in your case that doesn't seem to be true!)
