Evening issues with internet

Hello , for past few day in the evenings after 9 or 10 pm internet becomes very unstable , lights doesnt change but connection drops even few minutes for few seconds and then comes back . Router was bought few months ago and no it isnt hot , tiny bit warm on top but very tiny bit. Last time something remotly similar was happening when weather was very rainny or when some companies been performing works on lines 2-3-4 streets away (some privet contractors). Because i am reting a room and my bills are included i am not able to directly contact support about it and asking my ladlord to do something about it well we more like land on the moon again then he do anything about it

What router did you buy? Why aren't you using the EE supplied router?

Even if you could report it to EE CS they are likely to tell you to put the EE router back in so that they may investigate.

What is the name of the EE BB plan you are on including its speed?

1. OIC! You never bought a router. It's just loaned to you as part of the BB package.

3. Probably on 50/10 Meg partial fibre (FTTC).

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

@VisHD Looks like you may be having an upload issue with the Line, you may have to get the owner to do a HELP to 66033 for a line test to see if anything gets thrown up to EE, but upload's they care not about so nothing may happen if the download speed hangs in there. You should also run the speed test at various times when issue is not as bad and see if you do get the 50/10Mb/s ever reported back rather than your 50/4 currently. WiFi checking is NOT the way to be testing...

Yes, you should probably be getting 70/20 Meg on FTTC. Certainly far faster than 4 Meg Up.

If you would like help with your BB speed or connection issues, please would you carry out the following steps for starters, which will enable us to diagnose the problem and advise you further. Do not restart your router to do these tests:

1. Post your full router stats:

For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs. Also post the Home > Status page.
For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings > System > DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.
For other routers: login to it according to the label on it as the admin user & navigate looking for its router/connection statistics.

Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

2. Try a speedtest, preferably wired using an Ethernet cable supplied with the router, here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.

KEEP IN MIND THERE WAS NO ISSUES FEW DAYS AGO , NO CHANGE IN THE HOUSE ALSO SIMILAR THING HAPPEN ONES OR TWICE DURING SOME CHANGES TO WEATHER OR SOME COMPANIES BEEN WOKRING ON SOME LINES IN 2-5 STREETS AREA

@VisHD Did you do the test wired with all the other devices disconnected, or is it all just still wifi connected test?

@JimM11 : BB Sync speeds of 51/1 Meg are independent of wired/wireless. They are raw BB speeds.

@XRaySpeX The picture had not been cleared, so going purely on his TBB which is poor to say the least and possible wifi at the time, so 1Mb/s sync up not surprised unless you really think different. DSLAM has probably kicked in to try and save but not getting anywhere now.

Wanna hear my guess? Line/wires in the box my house is using are messed up , couldnt due to weather , somebody just kicking the box or something or pouring inside , or and last one is most common according ot many opinions , some company that worked in same box for different provider , while getting to own cables, damaged or nudged them and connection is fully there

@VisHD All good guesses, only EE can get it fixed for you if you so wish, and depending if your landlord wants anything to do with it.
