Slow speeds

I am 100 mtrs from dslam but my speed averages 48Mbps download. Tracert test shows issues within the network,

The issue is clearly a network issue, having many years as a broadband engineer for BT. I am aware of possible problems but the engineers do not seem to think beyond their JDSU

please investigate the network.

@WMAXH10 The Forum is public and not EE CS, you need to call EE direct or if on the new system do the HELP to 66033 as a text message if your mobile device can do it. No investigation will be done from your posting. EE are closed now so 8am tomorrow morning onwards for your call or text to them.

What are your router connection stats?

What speeds are reported by running the speed test in the EE app? That will not only measure the raw BB connection speeds you are getting at the router as well as speeds to the device from which you are testing.

@WMAXH10 Nothing wrong with your tracert's you did, as @XRaySpeX has requested better to get your stst's from the Advanced Status captured and posted, https://192.168.1.254 to get on the web manager.

If you are correct and only 100M from the street cabinet, your sync should be up at the 80Mb/s down - 20Mb/s up unless you have some cable wiring issue home, street to the cabinet etc being that close. Will copy all the tracert's below in a separate for you. If you say which EE/BT hub you are using can show you what would be best, got EE and BT hub captures.

Your OR colleagues may be required to error check your fttc line connection, but there will be some other things you can do once your stat's are looked at.

BT tests the line with the usual basic tester, probably a TAM test which I had found for the number of years as a broadband engineer for BT, part of the dedicated BB team for Birmingham and Coventry. I have suspicions that a line fault has developed, possibly a split pair with other issues adding to it.

Trying to get the 'technicians' to go as far as I used to for my broadband customers, was known as the BB miracle worker in the local military base near Gaydon.

there is something wrong but I just get quoted the guaranteed speed which covers the furthest reaches of the local Dslam, NOT the closest speeds.

sorry BT, you are failing to provide a proper service.

averaging about 42 Mbps download and 8.5 upload speeds

used to get 80 Mbps and 19 Mbps

getting almost 60% now

@WMAXH10 What is your fall back min speed on the line, see the btw and use your address. Have you tried your test socket? It's an OR Openreach problem to fix, BT got nothing to do with this one... Miracle works cost a little extra if you can find a good copper one now, Ex military one you will be good to go, they do know what they are doing.... Wanna swap? My top speed is 20Mbps and sometimes it is as low as 250Kbps.

@LordMatt Would you like to throw up your sync speed from your EE Hub so it can be looked at? At 20Mb/s you must be a good distance away from your street cabinet, or you possibly just have a bad line, the BTW link will also indicate what is expected. Just hide any details if you decide to post. Building Number and postcode is generally all that is needed for the check.

I can literally throw a stone from front door and hit the Dlsam I am that close.

for many years i was getting 80/20 Mbps but now I am getting 47/9 Mbps

as an ex BB engineer for BT I know its faulty

@WMAXH10 You need to deal with EE CS if you can get them to listen to you, that is your only method as the Forum can only advise you. Best you say nothing at all about your abilities and let the Openreach Engineer do his job.

@WMAXH10 If they are then you should know who to get them unthrottled with. Qube may just be blowing smoke up your pipe, you never know.

fibre 36,50 and 67 appear to be the three fttc packages, and at your cable distance you should be on the 67 package pulling the 80/20mb/s split. Any off the other's you are on the wrong one.

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.
