Broadband cancellation

I am wanting to cancel my broadband, or at least discuss reducing my monthly payments. Is there a way of doing this online or does it need to be in store?

Good luck with this. It is almost impossible to speak to anyone at EE. I have tried on line and in store without success

Welcome to the community,

If you speak to the billing team, by pressing option 1, I believe for broadband, they should be able to help, otherwise try option 2 and they should be able to put you through to the broadband team, but if you are still within the minimum term, not sure whether you can reduce your monthly payments, you would have to ring customer service or maybe go into a store with photo ID, as you will need proof.

@trober89 : To cancel your EE BB & Home Phone either:

If you no longer want any BB at your location, you phone EE on the Freephone no. (Opt 1) in my sig. and give 30 days notice OR
If you want to migrate your BB to another ISP you apply to them directly & they'll take care of everything bar your final EE bill, using the One Touch Switch (OTS) process. This will auto cancel your contract with EE.

How can I calculate how much I will pay should I cancel early?

I asked a couple of fairly simple and open questions to an adviser on chat and to say pulling teeth would be less painful is doing teeth pulling a disservice.

Contract finishes in November (14/11) asked how much to terminate early and the information made little sense. At £57.22 per month I would pay around £249 today.

I asked when I could end without additional charges and was told at 24 months. That’s great but I would have to pay another 30 days from 14/11. Obliging me to 25 months. Cancel on the 16/10 and I will pay £25 something making my final month cost about £82.

I know I am missing or misunderstanding something but what is it?

if I just shift to Sky now for example, am I going to get a final bill from EE for £200 or so?

Apologies if I’m being dense. I don’t recall having such a confusing chat with a customer service person before

@Wigglrman See the EE help for cancelling, sample there on how to work it all out! You have to balance when to do the move to get close over/under the £200 mark, OTS is a normal 14-21 days for operation off changeover, sky will let you fix the when it will happen but just not if the time does not apply or the pricing cannot be guaranteed, ie you cannot call up and say move me in 6 weeks that will work for me, may not work for others..... Yes you will get a final EE ETF bill, and that is for you to pay know one else, Sky will give it back to you in the Form off a credit, ie you pay no sky bill until the credit runs down and positive amount is on your account.

@Wigglrman : If you cancel your contract while still within min. term you will have to pay Early Cancellation Charges. You can see the method used to calculate your Early Cancellation Charges & some examples on p28 of EE TV, BROADBAND AND HOME PHONE Price Guide . It is not directly proportional to your usual monthly fee but is reduced by the savings made from not having to pay the supplier's (BTw) charges over the remainder of the contract.

If your contract finishes on 14/11 why do you think you have to pay a further 30 days if you cancel then? Any monthly fee paid in advance will be refunded from the time you cancelled.
