You could inject the phone signal into your home phone wiring by connecting the green phone socket at the back of the router to a phone socket with a phone extension lead & do away with the ATA adapters altogether.

This is not a query; this is a warning. EE's DVAs simply are too unreliable to be of any use. Bin them!

Every incoming call answered by a phone connected to a DVA gets disconnected during the call. Tried with different DVAs and different phones - always the same result. The DVA goes completely blank and stays completely blank for some indeterminate time (perhaps an hour or two, long after I've lost interest and patience checking behind the furniture) before coming back to life. EE Customer Service as well as a visiting engineer said that they had never heard of a DVA being blank and staying blank even after being unplugged and replugged. The said Engineer had it happen in front of his face and he still couldn't accept it.

DVAs have other shortcomings. (a) They don't allow an answerphone to work so I have to have my main base station upstairs connected directly to the router - and it's now an unacceptable inconvenience to check it. Previously if we came in through the front door, no more than a quick glance en passant would show the answerphone status. (b) if my wife, say, takes a call downstairs, I cannot answer using a phone upstairs (as we used to be able to do).

These DVAs are useless, not fit for purpose, and I'm washing my hands of them. I will now have to buy a new landline base-station (plugged into the router) plus three extra handsets and chargers to achieve our household requirements - apart from ease of checking answerphone messages which ease in our circumstances is somewhat more than merely desirable.

The latest technology is supposed to improve things. What a pile of tripe.

@flyhighest As the DVA's work down in the DECT frequency range, they are limited to actual area distance spread, hiw far away do you have the DBA from the EE Hub walls/doors floors etc it all takes effect limiting the signal, there are a few known issues with number push once connected etc ie dial 1,2,3,4 for x,y,z that can operate but that may also be the service connected to, your answering machine should work through the DVA but you do need to see that the connection does hold to the EE Hub! Been a few report's that the DVA's are blanking out so unless someone does report it to EE CS then they will never know what is going on or why they are falling by the wayside.
