EE 1.6gbps and EE TV with Eero Pro 7 Router

Just wondered if it’s possible to replace my EE Smart Hub WiFi 7 router with an Eero Pro 7 Router and if so, is it just a case of unplugging my EE router from the Openreach wall box and plugging the Eero Pro 7 router into the wall box instead? BB is EE 1.6gbps……Not particularly technical (!) but with my previous 900 mbps BT broadband service, it was just a case of doing this and signing in with user ID bthomehub@btbroadband.com etc. And it was good to go - is it still the same setup with the 1.6gbps BB service? And also, does EE TV work with the Eero Pro 7 router? Any advice/thoughts would be much appreciated, many thanks.

@NK20026 It's exactly the same so if it was on the BT Service before, it will connect instantly to the EE Service.

EE TV that is just not something i know so hopefully someone else pipes up for that.

Forgot to mention, if I switch to EE TV, would be using the EE Apple TV 4K box, not sure if that makes a difference?!

@NK20026 same answer from me, know nothing at all about what works or not with what hub or not.

EE TV that is just not something i know so hopefully someone else pipes up for that. Ask the question on the TV part off the Forum.

@NK20026 I was recently using my own Synology Router with EE 1.6 Fibre and then added EE TV.

With EE TV plugged into my own router - only the Apps worked for viewing - ITVX, HBO Now, iPlayer all worked fine.

Using the TV Guide did not work to view channels. EE TV reiles on being connected to the EE Hub to work if you want to use the guide to watch all the free to air channels or your TNT Sports channels for example.
I saw "broadband error" messsages trying to use the TV guide to watch stuff.

Now that said - I also explored having my own router connected to the Hub to have both work - and this is possible.

I got Gemini to give me instructions.

You can disable all the wifi on the hub and have your own router connected to it to run your wifi. But there were too many limitations with this setup that prevented me from using it (no port forwarding rules on my synology router if I used this), so I just bit the bullet and swapped my setup to the EE Hub and installed 2 Pro extenders to cover my house and garage.

Now that was my experience with EE TV - not sure about the Apple setup. See what Gemini says?

I tried both.

Initially I had only my Synology connected to ONT. (WAN to LAN?)
When I tried having my Synology in Bridge mode connected to EE Hub (LAN to LAN) I gave up as too many features I needed are disabled.

Did I understand your question right ?

I was querying the EE router > Synology connection. With LAN to LAN you get no double NAT & it will be the EE allocating IPs (DHCP). Then the Port forwarding rules will be config'ed on the EE.
