Background having Wifi range issue - was find for 18 months then issues, EE Home Tech advised there are known problems with HH 6, and suggested I upgrade to HH 7 Pro and WiFi Extender Pro .. as contract was up, I did so at less than the cost of the previous contract.

Put in Hub, paired the Extender then went and put it in same place as previous extender - won't connect (stays flashing Orange)

EE sent another Hub & Extender - no difference.

Spent Hrs on call with support - resetting hub, resetting extender - no change. At end of each failure, I would plug in HH6 and its extender and it would connect straight away.

Today a guy on support (Josh) who seemed to know his stuff ....took a different approach; he decided to install a 'Bridge' or daisy chain connection.

Basically, h/w rest of extender then pair first using Ethernet, then disconnected, then added second Extender - paired and left it connected by Ethernet.

Then put the first one in the required location - and it connected fine.

He said that the Bridge connection allows Extender to Extender connection without using WiFi, it uses its own RF connection.

It works - wonder if anybody can explain any details behind this set up ?

Are HH 6 & HH 7 Pro BT routers? Or is just the former BT's & the latter EE's Smart Hub 7 Pro?

Then by replacing 'HH' by 'SH' in OP you'll almost be there.
