Is there anyway way to convert IPv6 to ipv4 on the smart hub pro 7?

@elrick88 All off the devices you have connected will be getting both IPV4 and (IPV6 if the device supports this) via the EE Hub DHCP server's on request off the device, is there some kind off reason as to you asking that question?

Having some problems with older devices since upgrading to EE fibre and want to see if disabling IPv6 would help.

os there any way of disabling it?

@elrick88 No longer have an EE Hub, but if you can it would be in the Advanced settings that you can get to with the EE Hub manager, use https://192.168.1.254 to get on the hub and look see the IP is default unless you have changed the scope.

You may not be able to do so looking at Forum search, seems that EE have done some IpV6 changes and there may or may not be the ability to disable, have the look see for yourself. Would be under IPv6 Configuration in the Advanced settings if anywhere.

If you need to know what the Hub is at IPV4 and your device is at IPV6 then use the

https://whatismyipaddress.com that will show you, if you need to test then....

Test your IPv6.

When cleared for viewing you will see attached picture.

IpV6 test run from desktop connected through Asus Router on a Vodafone connection!

Older or weaker devices may not be compatible with the default WiFi settings of EE Smart Hubs. Try setting up Compatible WiFi on the router under Advanced > Wireless Settings > Config > Compatible WiFi (it defaults to 2.4 GHz only & WPA2) & connect your problematic 2.4 GHz devices to that.

You can't disable the Internet connection side of things, but you can effectively switch of anything on your network using native IPv6 by navigating to Advanced > IPv6 > Configuration in the Hub Manager and changing the allocation mode to off. Note that doing this will cause a brief interruption to your Internet connectivity and it's probably a good idea to reboot the hub after you've done it to get all of your devices to refresh their DHCP leases.

I have my doubts that it's the cause of your problem though. Perhaps you can share some more detail about what exactly it is you're seeing/having problems with?

@XRaySpeX - I think the screenshot in that post might be from an older hub or firmware. The option's definitely there because I've started using it myself following recent firmware updates (a change to IPv6 DNS behaviour created a situation where stuff started bypassing my ad-blocking/Pi-hole).

I've also noticed the setting doesn't seem to persist through firmware updates and defaults back to 'Stateless' (at least it did for me).
