Hi There

I work for a start up called Submix, we provide studio grade audio and video of an online platform. I have had no issues with any provider or device until I connect to my EE smart hub. It seems to cap the speed of the platform rendering it unusable. I've done a multitude of testing with the wifi optimiser and ping optimiser and neither provide a stable solution. Is there a way to turn all capping or traffic limiting off the router.

Thanks for the reply!

I have Full Fibre and have tried different hubs along with wired and wireless connections. We actually moved property and the problem moved with the change. The issues has been the same in both properties.

Plan is - Essentials: Full Fibre 300

Last speed check - 260Mbps Down, 69.4 up, 18 Idle (Jitter 3) 134 Download (Jitter 42), Upload 27 (Jitter 9)

The software worked flawlessly with a previous provider. Currently my solution is to run it off 5G during calls.

Thanks

Matt

There is a round off FW updates for the SH31B you have so linked that below if you need to compare. Forget about the Ping optimiser sugar it does not look like it's working 90% off the time. EE do not admit to any traffic shaping but will post the minimum that OR applies to your profile...

Thanks so much, will try some FW updates and see how that goes. Its so strange as it runs fine on much slower connections, have tested it right down to 20Mbps and as I said its stable on a 5g connection when I hotspot. I also tried a couple of other routers in various brands and they did the same.

Do you currently happen to have a BT Smart Hub2, if so would throw that on the connection as it's an easy one to do and no faffing about with it.

If the EE WiFi app logon is working for you then just use it. You can also just wait and see if the FW update does anything to help you out on the other WiFi profiles. You have a mixed bag going on with and if purchased the addon for Optimisation of the EE Hub.

If so, have a read of this and this.

TL:DR - you could be hitting an acknowledged issue with some EE hubs where they are not stripping the DSCP markings applied by third-party applications. This has the effect of stuffing the impacted traffic into a prioritised queue that has very little bandwidth allocated to it.

As others have alluded to, r4.26.3 firmware is currently doing the rounds which may well contain a fix for the problem. It would certainly be interesting to see if you still have problems once you've received it.
