Stalled Installation

Hi, we recently had an EE engineer come out to install our home WiFi, but we’ve run into an issue. The installation requires drilling in an area where we’ve been told we need an asbestos approval letter from our HOA.

We’ve been trying to get this sorted for nearly two weeks now but haven’t had any response or help from them yet. Is there anything else EE can do to assist or offer an alternative solution so we can complete the installation? We’re really keen to get our internet set up as soon as possible.@members

@CasandraB Drilling elsewhere will probably mean you’ll be in the same situation. You need to keep on at the HOA.

Openreach engineers legally require an asbestos register or written clearance before starting any work in communal areas, such as drilling holes for full fibre installations in apartment blocks.
As @Chris_B mentioned, the building's freeholder or landlord must provide this documentation; Openreach does not carry out asbestos testing.
