Guest WI-FI on EE home hub - managing access?

Hi,

I have enabled Guest WI-FI on my EE hub 6plus & is working great.

However, is there an option to block access or setting or an ‘allow’ list for guests?

If say a friend has the guest Wi-Fi access & I want to keep the password etc the same ( to ensure others can connect ) but remove just them OR stop others connecting from someone passing on my Guest Wi-Fi password ).

So, if there was an ‘approved’ access - I can then share the Guest Wi-Fi & then only ‘approve’ those I know.

Is this possible ?

(as right now - only way I see working is the keep changing the password - however; this kicks all off & does not then stop the change being shared )

Thoughts?

There is no approved Guest list. Anybody connecting would need to be guests in your home or nearby. What I do is not tell anybody the pwd but log them in myself on their device but that is not foolproof as they can read back the pwd on some mobiles.

There is also Access Controls under the EE app but that would be after-the-event when you see their device name appear in the list of Connected Devices under My Network.

@Clever_Trevor Changing the password you DO NOT want it to be the same as your Main/Comp networks.... Guest network if still working that way and not sorted out by EE, you will find that it may only work on the Main Hub and KNOW where else. All about it below,

its not clear from the guide - how to see who is connected to ‘guest Wi-Fi’ as when I check the device list in the app, they are not separated.

it would be good also if we were able to manage a block list to avoid the shared WiFi being shared by someone else.

@Clever_Trevor You would need to take it up with EE CS, the app your lucky it is working, features and what it does, either work around it, or create a group and throw the devices that appear into that! Change the password if you don't or find that someone has shared that you don't want connected to your network. Number 5....

Find devices on the Guest WiFi

You must set up your Guest WiFi before you can see connected devices. In the EE app:

Sign into the EE app.
Select Manage.
Select Broadband.
Scroll to ‘Devices’ and select See all devices.
Devices on the Guest WiFi will be listed below the devices connected to your main network, with a label stating 'Online (Guest)'.

All is setup & working fine - I will now check to see if the “(Guest)” appears when a Guest attaches….

@Clever_Trevor Hopefully it all works out for you, personally would be using one off my own devices, attaching that to the Guest Network and making sure it is as expected, and another device on the Main Network to confirm what you are seeing..... App hopefully is working fully if that is your primary user device. There is not a lot Forum wise but you can take a look if it helps.

IME experience this doesn't work (at least it didn't the last I checked). There's a section for Guest WiFi but it's always void of clients, even when there's stuff connected to the Guest network.

@bobpullen Oops, thanks was not aware that it did not happen and show up in the app, just another one of those to be fixed app wise possibly.... Wonder if there is any indication via the web manager, IP would sure stick out....
