Hi

Ive been with Openreach FTTP providers since I moved into a new build in 2019.
Had no issues until so contracted with EE for their top 1.6gb package.

Every time EE change my IP it causes my broadband to fall over.

I have a Keep Connect plug which reboots the system when it detects this so that if I am away from home I can still access my home network.

See the logs attached. The last time so raised this with EE they sent an Openreach engineer out to investigate. He said he could see at their end that our port was damaged so he moved my service to a different port.

This time all EE did was open a complaint, do nothing, then close the complaint.

Ive just had yet another reboot and I’m getting sick of it. Any advice would be most welcome.

Ok thanks Jim. I’m away at the minute but home tomorrow afternoon. I’ll do that and report back.

Openreach swapped the ONS when EE was installed and it’s just never been as stable since.

@Geoggy25 Yes you need a new ONT with the upgrade, 1.6Gb/s requires an ONT with the 2.5Gb/s Ethernet NIC port, there is one of those on the EE Pro Hub and now your new ONT.... Has been reported although a while back now the Hub is very picky about the WAN cable, so not sure if that has ever been looked at or changed out....

I only have a FF500 connection and never had any wan / ont connection issues, then again no longer an EE customer but the EE Smart Hub + was rock solid on the connection until EE messed about with FW to that particular Hub i had at the time....

The test will see how sticky the wan IP is with a 5 minute off time, same IP then it's sticky, different IP it is not!

Going to say over the last 18months or so on a FF connection had about 3 wan drops that the Asus Router picked up on, you are never sure if OR/BTW/ and at that time Sky were the issue, so far on vodafone last 6 weeks nothing at all drop wise.

The current reported stability is all to do with the 2.4Ghz band on the smart channel Auto setting, changing to fixed values off either 1,6,11 sort's it all out, those are the good recommended housekeeping channels.

Device Specifications - Keep Connect by Johnson Creative

Looks like you device is a wireless N more than likely 2.4Ghz and WPA2-PSK operational on the wireless also.
