Port Forwarding Not Working on EE Smart Hub—Fix Needed

I've been trying to open specific ports on my EE Smart Hub, using a TP-Link RE700X range extender. My setup is identical to my previous router, but now the ports won't open. I’ve manually configured them in the EE Hub and in Windows Firewall, set up a static IP for the extender, disabled DMZ, and tried full resets. EE support was unhelpful—they just suggested restarting the router and re-following the guide, but nothing worked. Has anyone had this issue or found a fix on EE?

Why would you be allowing external access to a range extender?

What is the name of the EE BB plan you are on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Hi everyone, I’m still having trouble getting any game ports (like Rust, Minecraft, etc.) to forward on my EE Smart Hub 7 Plus. I’ve restarted the router, done a full reset, disabled DHCP on the extender, and set a static IP for my PC. I followed the EE guide step-by-step, but it still won’t work. Also, I keep getting sent the same port forwarding guide link, even though I’ve done all the steps. On top of that, there seems to be a glitch on the EE site: when I try to manually set the IP under user-defined IPv4, it just shows red boxes, and I can’t set external ports—only internal. Has anyone else run into this, or have any other ideas? Thanks!

@LiamStevo What is the FW on that plus 7 hub, linked below but may not be fully current as the other 6Plus / 7 Pro have been getting updates.

For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs. Also post the Home > Status page.

@LiamStevo If you are using the stupid app it displays on that somewhere. Or web manager https://192.168.1.254 and in one off the tabs Status will display it.

Why are you selecting the IP off the RE, should be the PC or Server....

Now press the Status tile.

I'm pretty sure that it is not the TP-Link Router that is providing the Rust service.

@LiamStevo You have the latest FW on that hub, so a good few if not all the Port Forwarding issues were sorted out with the prior release. Now use the My Network tab on the screen and go find the Ip / Name / Mac of the PC that you are trying to Port Forward. This was the other long running linked below so may be worth you taking the time to read.

Show us the Network Map under Home > Advanced > My Network. Post the whole page incl. the diagram & the list of devices below it, obscuring the MAC Addys.

Well, we can't fix it for you but we may be able to advise you how to go about it if you give us sufficient info about your setup. Personally I believe you are trying to open ports on the wrong device.
