Hi

I noticed last night - new firmware r4.26.1-R-1860948-PROD-83002 on the EE hub 6 plus….

Anyone know what this update adds/ fixes ….?

As only reason I knew is

1/ I had a Netgear WiFi extender which disconnected & has/had lost its connection to the hub

2/ ( I had 1/ above added as poor WiFi to detached garage ) - However; I now notice the WiFi to these further devices is now much better ( instead of 1 bar strength at those device, is showing 2 / 3 bars 👍)

So, I am leaving the WIFI extender disconnected - as WiFi appears better

I do not see any other features/ changes in settings - but am pleased to see WiFi working better for me ….

Thanks.

Hi Cliff_G

is interesting you had that issue. I did have same happen with an extender - then started to investigate the cause & noticed the firmware had updated.

to resolve it - I used the EE app ( select manage hub ). Click list devices & the extender was showing offline - I then clicked on the edit & selected ‘forget this device’ then turned the WiFi extender back on & it reconnected.

seems EE have tweaked the WiFi.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

My solution seems to be to power down the router for 20 minutes. So far that's been around 5 hours and everythign has been behaving perfectly. We'll see if it lasts...

Was talking to one of the EE Guides today (very helpful). They are now aware of Wifi problems likely around this firmware update (on the 2.4 GHz signal, I told him). Apparently the update was to align the EE routers with the BT ones (in some way, no detail given). I asked if an update was likely to which the answer was basically no, unless they do find sufficient reason to fix a problem.

They don't fix problems that are years old, so why do one that has just cropped up.... There was an issue on 2.4Ghz being fixed and jumping all over the place from previous ie would not hold the fixed channel that you selected, never seen it myself on my EE Hub but others reported so....
