While waiting for activation I'm noting a few posts about issues connecting some devices to the EE router assuming I'll encounter the same, esp. for those devices that need 2.4GHz or WPA2 only - the common advice seems to be creating an SSID in Compatible mode - but its hard to know whether this always works as posters dont always return after their initial post.

For a while Ive used the ISP router connected to ONT for authentication and to ease any support calls but with WIFI off, but connect a second router used in Access Point mode to provide more LAN ports and Wifi with its own SSID, Some routers arent that expensive and tend to have all settings available and a user guide unlike ISP routers. Even without an AP mode it might be enough to turn off DHCP in an old router, connect by LAN to the ISP router, and use that for WiFi instead if known to work.

I recently upgraded my BT Router for an EE Router. In doing so, I lost connectivity to the Project EV charger I had configured to run of the Project EV app. Believing it to be a fault with the EV Charger, Project EV kindly sent me out a replacement. After having the Project EV installed I tried configuring the Project EV through the App, without success. After hours of time on the telephone talking through with the Project EV support team, and repeatedly and repeatedly turning off router, connecting, rebooting, turning router on again, appearing to have settings saved, connection was impossible.

After advice that the router needs to be set to 2.4GHz, I set the EE router to Compatible settings, turning the 5GHz option off. Alas, although the procedure progresses and appears to have "saved settings", once I return to the Project AV App it shows as charger off line. The outcome is that I cannot use the charger at all, as the only way to operate it is through the App. An obvious design flaw on Project EV's part that you need the App to tell the charger to charge on plug in! Nevertheless, the charger that had been working perfectly with a BT router is now replaced by a brand new unit, plus installation cost, only to effectively be a garden ornament adorning our front wall.

Have I any options to restore connectivity? At present, this has been a very costly broadband "upgrade"...
