topic WiFi 7 Pro Extender in Broadband & Landline

I'm a new (remorseful) broadband customer.

As with many others my experience is that the pro extender only connects to the hub if it's either wired, or was paired while wired and then the the cable unplugged but not turned off (and therefore not moved). Once powered off and then on again I only ever get a flashing amber light (10cm from the hub).

I have read the other topics and so I understand all the suggestions about reboots, resets, leaving things connected for X time etc. and calling EE support. And yes I have seen the pinned post.

Chat GPT's view is the firmware on the pro hub is simply immature given the number of complaints, and that many people with any technical understanding end up using a third party hardware setup. I'm inclined to agree but would love to be wrong.

What I would like to know is does anyone here have actual personal experience of something that has worked ?

I am exactly the opposite. I purchased a Pro router and extender from a 3rd party site and have never had any issues. I factory reset both on arrival (even though they were brand new), setup hub first then added extender via EE app using ethernat cable. Unplugged extender and positioned it in the loft with a timer plug to weekly reboot and its worked perfect ever since even with several firmware upgrades. I can see the kids devices connect to it all the time and have had no complaints about lag whilst online gaming.
