Just received a new digital smart hub Plus. No idea what I'm supposed to do with it !

OK, watched a couple of EE videos, nothing like what I have ! As far as I can see without ripping cupboards out, there is a junction box under the stairs where the cable comes in. That travels all the way round the room. behind all the cupboards etc, and comes out on my desk near the phone. This box has said cable going in to it, and one small plug coming out, this goes to my original hub, the older ee black smart hub with a long light running under the logo.

Following the phone line, that also disappears round the room and behind all the cupboards, but it doesn't seem to come out at the other end ! Does this mean that there is another junction box behind the cupboards ?

Thought about ordering a free wifi adapter, but phone is no longer with EE, just broadband, so cannot text Adapter to 66033, just bounces back, obviously...

Am I looking at taking sledge hammer to my nice new(ish) cupboards ? or is there another way of contacting EE ? TIA

What is the name of the EE BB plan you are on including its speed?

Perhaps you are meant to replace your existing router with this new 1. Suck it & see. It's just 1 wire.

Ah, you never mentioned you had a free upgrade. All you said was you just received a router which you had no idea what to do with.

EE are planning to upgrade you from partial Fibre (FTTC) which comes to you at a phone socket to Full Fibre (FTTP) which comes to you at an ONT modem box. EE will scheduling an OR engineer to come round to install the Full Fibre after discussing with you the positioning of the wiring & the ONT.

See How Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) is installed
