Not really true - stud walls have horizontal noggins at regular intervals, so it's not just a case of feeding a cable vertically downwards between two upright timbers. To make it "easy" you have to cut away plasterboard...so then you need a plasterer to make good as well as a network guy to run the cables and make the connections to RJ45 boxes. All DIY stuff but do you really want the bother? Cheaper and easier to upgrade WiFi capabilities in many cases I'd say.

Spotted this this morning. Looks like an upgraded version of the Smart Hub Plus is on it's way

This version has one 2.5GB Lan port in addition to three 1GB Lan ports

Yes, just saw an article at T3 about it (https://www.t3.com/home-living/smart-home/smart-hub-7-plus-set-to-bring-wifi-7-to-the-masses)

I assume this will go out with any new >= 500Mbps lines, but fingers crossed those of us with existing lines will get an option to upgrade...

That article got it wrong about using the SH7+ on partial Fibre lines. It's not a "Phone Input" but a Phone port for DV.

There is also no guarantee that if you do get them to replace your router they will not send you what you already have 😭

Basically it is a carrot to attract new business

I suspected as much, but I can dream!

Not sure how much of a speed boost Wifi 7 would give me over 6 though, also wondering how much effort putting some ethernet cables to my home office would be...
