Installed all my shiny new EE router and extenders the weekend and it wasn't much fun.

Connection issues with most smart plugs that I eventually managed to sort out and my beloved dreame Bot finally got connected. However, the Extenders are as far as I can tell absolute rubbish.

They refuse to connect for more than a few mins and that was as close as between 5-10 feet. I was very patient, about 4 hours patient until I finally gave up.

I've now put my BT router back and my BT black WIFI discs and everything is perfect again. What an experience !

I intend to retry the new EE equipment in about 6 months, hopefully there will have been firmware updates by then that fix all of this. I'm amazed that after all this time it's still such poor equipment.

Hows your experience been ?

Hi Jim, Luckily the only items they will charge me on not returning are 2 wifi discs, £50 each. TV box and Router are £0 not returned so I'm safe thankfully .

Hi Northerner, I'm afraid I do. I live in a Victorian house and the dividing walls are 9 inches thick. With my BT setup I ended up with 4 wifi discs to maximize coverage, BT supplied 2 of those and the others I bought from Ebay.

I was hoping for so much more. I've waited a long time thinking all the bugs would be ironed out but alas no.

I rue the day I agreed to accept the new EE Pro 7 hub and extenders (if that’s what it’s called). I would have the previous hub and extenders back in a heartbeat - PLEASE! I was told I had to return my old equipment or they would charge me for it. I even had emails reminding me. Oh how I wish I sent the new stuff back and kept the old.

I never even asked for the ‘upgrade’, I only rang to sort out the mobile phone contract for someone for whom I have POA! Now after a visit from an ‘engineer’ yesterday my WiFi barely works outside the back door instead of being able to watch TV on my iPad around 80ft away in my summerhouse at the bottom of my garden. I shall be seriously unhappy if this doesn’t get fixed as we go into summer.

The other issue has been my HP Printer. I’ve seen others on this forum with the same issue. My printer formerly connected wirelessly and used to print documents 2 sided , photocopy, scan, print photos and screen shots. I managed a work around to print documents. Yesterday I rang for tech advice for my printer, they were helpful but couldn’t fix the problem so sent an ‘engineer’. He knew nothing about printer problems but decided to reinstall my WiFi extenders for me. Now neither of them work at all! I’ve reset them, used a cable to pair them to the hub 👍 move them to where they were previously located, repeat process several times and they’re still flashing Aqua after many hours.

I had been a BT customer for years - I am really regretting moving across- I get coverage at the front of our bungalow- the router is in the front bedroom - The extender is in the middle of the property and my office/seating area is literally 5/6 feet from that around the corner in another room.. The signal is crap .. I thing the EE Broadband is dire ..

If I had known now what I do now I would never have switched over.. The problem is that once you have switched from BT to EE they advised e that you cannot switch back and they are going to move everyone off BT sooner rather than later..
