I have a theory on this that I would like someone more-technical-than-me to review:

I think there's a difference in performance here between the PRO Router/Extenders (SH40J/SW40J), and the PLUS Router/Extenders (SH35A/SW35A).

I have the "PLUS" hardware (and I was sent x3 Extenders when I moved from BT to replace the Whole Home Mesh discs).

From what I can gather, the PLUS hardware is incapable of meshing or daisy-chaining or backhaul because it is only a dual-band system. I believe the PRO hardware is Tri-band - which should make it capable of at least daisy-chaining and ethernet backhaul because it uses the third band for dedicated traffic and thus removes the confusion of the Dual-band Extenders trying to figure out what they are all meant to be doing on either band...

I agree with others - I think we were mis-sold the PLUS hardware - because it is NOT a replacement for the previous BT mesh system. If EE gave us the PRO kit then I think it would be "like-for-like".... and BTW I was moved over supposedly on a "like-for-like" tarriff basis and then sent the PLUS kit - which clearly is not like-for-like with the BT mesh discs...

I have raised a dispute with EE about this because their answer is to pay more to upgrade the PLUS kit to PRO...

Grateful for anyone's thoughts on that...

Does anyone know how to daisy chain EE Smart wifi Plus extenders?

I’m trying to extend our wifi coverage to the summerhouse at the far end of the garden. I’ve positioned one extender in the kitchen window and that is working fine, pale blue light and shows a good connection on the EE app.

I’ve put another extender in the summerhouse but that lights up orange. When I check on the EE app it looks like the summerhouse extender is connecting directly to the hub rather than through the extender in the kitchen which should be transmitting a much stronger signal.

My understanding was that you could daisy chain the EE wifi extenders in this fashion, it is one of the reasons we switched to EE. But maybe what I read is wrong?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ginger Steve

Same question with Smart Wifi Pro. Bizzarely I can get the last unit to connect to the send point when in the same room but when I take it to its destination it refuses to connect even though an Orbi based system happily works over exactly the same route.

Your question is one I have been asking EE about , I have the same problem . I have moved a booster into kitchen yet my summer house one still connects to the main router . I do not believe they can daisy chain . I have a second engineer out at my house next week and if he cannot get it to daisy chain then I will be cancelling the contract with them . I had BTwhole home system before they moved me to EE and I got a perfect signal in summerhouse with the whole home system . I have been told different stories by different engineers and customer service staff about what works and what doesn’t . Will let you know what happens when I get another engineer visit next week . Good luck

I keep trying to explain this when speaking to an ee person. They have just sent a new booster to replace the current one in case it is faulty(new one does exactly the same, no surprise there)! The bt ones worked on daisy chain but all the ee boosters try to connect back to hub. I’m looking at cancelling or buying boosters that will daisy chain as ee connection won’t work across the house

Welcome to the EE Community 😊

I've had a check on this one, and there isn't a formal way to daisy chain the Smart WiFi extenders.

Once you initially pair these to your Hub though, if you move it away and the strongest signal is another one of the extenders, it can then link with this and work in a daisy chain manner.

You're likely to experience a fair bit more latency if you were to try this though, and it's not ever something we'd recommend or guarantee as the best way forwards.

Well maybe EE should stop telling people you can daisy chain them before they move them from BT , worst mistake I ever made moving over to EE , can’t wait until my new contract expires and I can leave EE and go somewhere else where I can daisy chain my system and get it working the way it used to with the old bt DISC system . EE just telling people what they want to hear to get them moved across to EE , shocking customer service ,
Sent from my iPhone

Just switched over to EE from BT.

This is truley annoying and goes against the information in the EE set up process which states to place the extender half way between your weak point and either the hub or another extender.

I remember when BT Whole Home was first introduced (their white discs), the ability to daisy chain came with an update, so I now live in hope that one day my extender that can't decide between orange or aqua stabilises after an update!

I have the same problem, but entirely within the house. The house is an old bungalow with thick stone walls in the shape of a 'U'. The hub is in one arm of the 'U', and the TV is in the other. I need a decent signal for streaming to the TV.

I have placed one extender in the connecting part of the house (the bottom of the 'U' if you will), and that is paired successfully with the hub. I then tried what you recommended with other extender, but it failed to connect.

So what is the best way forward? And have EE any plans to make daisy-chaining possible? In other words, how are EE going to make good their pledge to provide strong WiFi all over the house?

Mine seems to daisy chain but I am only running it on 5 & 6 Ghz as I have turned the 2.4Ghz network off as it will not support my 90 2.4Ghz devices. I have a separate TP Link 2.4Ghz network for them.

I have attached the screenshot of the extenders and hub as seen on the hub manager (which may take some time to show here).
