Setting up EE FTTP with UniFi router

I’m trying to set up my UniFi dream router with my EE FTTP, I’ve followed all in instructions in this guide and I still can’t get it to authenticate. I have a smart hub 2 at the moment that works fine with the service, but when connecting to the UniFi router I’m getting no service. Anyone have any suggestions?

In Using & Configuring a Third Party Router > Full Fibre you'll find everything you need to set up your router incl. the BB PPPoE creds. which are now the same as BT's.

@Trumpton Post all the settings that you have done. The third party settings are for connecting to the ONT direct and NOT using the EE Hub.

Methinks in step 4 the VLAN settings are wrong & should only be for partial Fibre. Leave alone at default or 0.

Hi Jim,

yes that’s what I’m wanting to do, connect straight to the ONT and remove the EE router from my set up.

I changed the VLAN ID to 101

Connection to PPoE

Username bthomehub@btbroadband.com

password BT

And auto DNS server

No VLAN ID for FTTP. VLAN done by modem.

@Trumpton No Vlan remove it, use the password as blank.

That’s working now thanks to the both of you, got myself confused as an agent on the EE chat told me the vlan should be 101. Thanks again

@Trumpton No problems, there are no two hubs that work the same way, some work with the BT as password, some prefer to be blank, chap is not mentioned a lot, but the VLAN is not required to be setup for the EE connection. At least you are connected and working with your UDM.👍
