Just to clarify:

Only after the deal was done and the call was over did I receive a text message mentioning how to claim the credits etc. This was the first mention of credits, and at no point on the call was this raised, hence my surprise when I received a text and email- long after the call, re how to claim credits.

Guess I'll just have to cancel my order within the 14 days as I don't have the money to pay sky for the ETF.

Hello. I was offered a great broadband deal with EE and the advisor said they'd handle everything. I have sky TV and broadband. I'm keeping sky TV but switching to EE broadband.

I was told EE would cover any early termination fees for the sky broadband. However, I've just received an email from EE saying I have to send them my final sky bill and they'll then apply a credit to my EE account?

But the terms say there's no cash alternative? So technically EE aren't buying off my sky. I'm expected to buy myself out of sky and then get EE credits for the cost? Seems a bit mental to me. I don't want EE credits and I certainly cannot afford to pay Sky hundreds of £s.

This absolutely was not discussed with me on the phone and now I'm tempted to call off the whole thing.

Anyone else went through this process?

Thanks

Hello, thanks for the reply.

I've already viewed that link as to how to claim credit. My issue isn't how to do it. It's what it actually is.

I was told EE would pay my early termination fee to sky. Not that they'd apply a credit, that cannot be turned into a cash alternative to directly pay sky if that makes sense? They also said I'd not have to do a thing other than return my sky equipment which sky would initiate. So now, I'm quite confused by all these additional things I have to do, which I absolutely was not told about.

I don't have the £ to pay sky for an early termination fee. And it's my understanding from reading the policy that EE credits remain on your EE account and cannot be refunded or transferred.

So yeah, I'll have EE credits for a while, but I still have to pay out of pocket to sky, money I don't have.

Who/Where it is said that EE will pay your exit fees directly to Sky? That has never been the offer. The offer is to pay these fees as a Bill credit, as stated in that text you received from EE, against which your future bills will be credited. Thus you will eventually get the money but not immediately to pay Sky. Anyway there is no mechanism existing for the gaining ISP to pay the losing ISP on a leaving user's a/c.

Everybody else who has taken up this offer has had to do it this way.

His name was Jack and he was from the upgrade team. He sounded Welsh.

I would never have agreed to a credited bill as my early termination fee with Sky is very high and I don't have the money to pay it.
