Can I also assure you that the the switchover will be seamless if my own experience today is normal. I have my own mesh network (TP-Link Deco units) and was expecting having to reconfigure those. I needn't have worried. Once the new router (delivered at around 10 a.m.) was powered on and ethernet cables plugged in, the whole network was working exactly as before via the BT Smart Hub 2. I just switched off the EE wireless completely even though it wasn't interfering with my devices around the house. Very impressed so far.

One niggle is that I haven't been able to update the router firmware via the EE app as it keeps failing. Perhaps I needn't bother and updates will be sent automatically when needed. Current firmware is r3.35.23-R-1648107-PROD-84001 - perhaps already the latest?

Today is switchover day from Bt. I am on a bt smart hub 2 so the switch should be seamless. How do I know when the switch has occurred? I can then set up the new router. Thanks

The switch was overnight but they never emailed me. I have now installed then ee router (I changed the ssid and p/word earlier) and everything is working as it was, even the power line adapters are fine. One issue - I cannot pair the EE App it keeps telling me wifi of is not switched on - it's weird. First it identifies the network and asks if I want to pair, I then type in the network password and it fails and says Wi fi not connected. It is the same is I scan the ssid and password except here it just fails and says try later.

Phoned EE and we have now managed to pair the app and the hub. One issue always seems to lead to another though as the hub is showing my iMac as being connected via ethernet when it is not it is commented via wifi. The speeds are being throttled as well as a result! Not even an ethernet cable anywhere near the Mac

Sorted. I had an Ethernet cable plugged in to the iMac (the other end was not plugged in). The hub or extender took that as meaning the Mac was on Ethernet, set it up as such and throttled the speed. Unplugging the ethernet cable and restarting the extender cracked it 🙂
