Why has my broadband account been updated? I never agreed to this so I assume that when my 24 month contract is up in may it will still be up and this hadn't extended it?

In what way has it been updated?

These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the non-discounted price on a rolling 30-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade.

Not really what I asked? More conscious of the fact that the correspondence Im getting from EE is saying things like "your first bill since your account update .." I fully intend to move at the end of my 24 months and just hope that this hasnt updated the "min term" to another 24 months.

Have a look on the website under manage or similar on the app. The website is https://ee.co.uk/manage assuming you are logged in. That should give you your contract length.
