I've been told that when my current contract ends (I’m on Fibre 36 Essentials) I will have to move to Full Fibre; This was news to me.

My situation is that I have no direct line of view to the nearest telegraph pole and, since 1980, I seem to have used the same copper wire as my immediate neighbour. There was just the one wire, so my phone must have been split off at some point on my neighbour’s property and then run under our eaves. Last year 2 more wires ran from the telegraph pole to my neighbour’s property. At least one must have been for full fibre.

I’ve spoken to my neighbour just the once. He’s a recent occupant. There is no dispute with him. I do not feel I can ask him what the two additional wires are for.

So, I have reservations about being able to go Full Fibre technically. And if that’s the case, where does it leave me?

XRaySpeX

When I enter my telephone number I get

"There is no data available. This may be because it is not a BT line or it is a number which has been moved to an IP Voice service. We advise using the address to check availability instead.

I do have Digital Voice

Using my UPRN results in

"We are sorry but the checker is unavailable at the moment. Please try again later."

The third alternative is Access line Id, which I dont know.

I have set things in motion. I have taken it as read that I must move to Full Fibre amd I now have an appointment with an Openreach engineer in the pipeline. I just hope my reservations are groundless.

Yes, you could get FTTP there. It will be supplied to you overhead, probably by the same route FTTC comes, but OR will eventually decide the route.

However, if you don't recontract or make any other changes, you should be able to stay on your current FTTC 36 Meg plan.
