Reply to my own post.

Poster above said why not just change provider. I said I've been with DynDns forever and didn't want to change.

Well I slept on it and decided, does it matter ? so I cancelled Dyndns and signed up with No-Ip. Still trying to work out why I was getting so stressed about it .

Hi there.

After now 17 calls, over 24 hours on the phone with EE, switching from BT to EE broadband I was told the EE service will be a like for like with BT. I asked if i can use my wifi extenders with the new EE hub, was told yes, then sold the hybrid connect as part of the deal and later found out that I was lied to.

I have raised now 3 complaints and getting to the point where EE service is not fit for purpose.

My question and issue is has anyone been able to get DynDNS working with the new EE Smart hub pro+ or whatever the new hardware is called?

Dyndns workts fine with the BT hardware and annoyed with EE that I was told that everything would work as it should. Total nightmare issue with EE

When I've used it, it seems to work, although it sometimes returns a status message suggesting that there's a problem. This didn't seem to stop my IP updating though.

Totally

ive raised a complaint that the EE hardware is no good for my purpose at home.

sales agent told me I would have the same service as BT

BT hardware has been plugged back in and will let EE sort this out.

EE have gone down hill over the past 10 years

Another update.. I switched everything back to my BT hub, however now see that my speeds are around 90mb and not 900mb. the hub is reporting 1000mb connection but appears that BT hardware has been throttled back. I plugged the EE pro hub back in and getting 570mb on avg speed.

Appears that EE are doing something where the old BT hubs are providing slower speeds for some reason.

If so, I'd be surprised if the list is updated any time soon.

Why not sign up for one of the providers that is available? I think most of them offer some sort of free account.

Failing that, if there is a machine on your network that's powered up most of the time then you could install a DynDNS client on it and have that update your IP address instead of the router.

I don't think there's any intentional throttling of the older hubs going on, as plenty of comment from round these parts where people have moved backwards without issue.

Well, it might be a big deal if you've paid for 5 years and have 3.5 years left to run. I guess I'll be installing the DynUpdater.

That said, not being able to back up your config as you can with the BT Hub is another ballache.

Also, I have to admit that getting a "Welcome to Virgin Media" page on my new EE hub was a bit of a surprise when connected via LAN.
