Port forwarding on ee hub

Hi there,

I have a server that is running an emby media application so i can access my movies and tv remotely. I have it working by forwarding port 80 for http connections but I want a secure connection over https. When I set up a second rule in the ee hub manager to forward incoming connections over https (port 443) to my server it just doesn't work. Does ee allow port forwarding of https connections? I have an ssl certificate and everything setup but I just cannot get it to connect over https. Any guidance would be really appreciated.

@Nasseh92 : What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Hi, I'm on the Full Fibre 500 plan. And we're using the EE Smart Hub Wifi 6 Router, I'll have to double check that later as I'm at work atm but I'm pretty sure that's the one. Not using any wifi extenders, my server and home desktop are connected to the router on ethernet through a network switch.

Hey there, any more thoughts on this? Or do you need more details from me? I just wanna know if EE blocks incoming SSL connections on standard plans, and do I need something like a business plan to be able to host a web server, which is what I've read could be the case.

Port forwarding to SSL/TLS is not blocked. Can you share how your port forwarding rules look?

Hello again, managed to finally get it working. I was basically just having an issue with getting an Emby server to recognise an SSL certificate and I realised that I had to setup the certificate with a password, only then did it finally correctly establish a secure connection. Port forwarding worked perfectly on the hub. Thanks for your help and replies!
