A switch usually takes about 14 days from ordering. Even if it happens too soon you can't incur more than a few days charges.

My contract ends 27th november. I rang to cancel yesterday due to price increase. They said they would cancel on 29th. When the email came through it said 29th december so I rang them again. Was asked if I was moving house said no but he said that is what was showing on my account as reason for closing. Was told I only have to give 2 weeks notice so can cancel on 1st dec. He cancelled the 29th dec. But said the system would not let him do the new cancellation for a few hours so to ring back next day notes would be on my account. Rang and eventually was told cancellation was done. I asked for an email confirming that and he said he had sent it. Not had an email and my account is not showing the new cancellation. I am so confused!! I know I will have to ring back. Looking at the website it says 14 days notice out of contract so should I wait until the 27th and then cancel?

No, you may give your notice to cancel now as you're only 8 days away from your min term. You should be able to give your (14 or 30 days) notice in advance so that it will expire on or after your min. term date.

Are you on EE legacy BB? What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? It is only legacy BB that requires only 14 days notice. New EE BB requires 30 days notice.

Thank you. It says my plan name is Fibre Broadband with landline. I cannot see a speed anywhere. It does say 14 days on the website.

Are you switching to another ISP , if so you should sign up to that ISP & let the switch be managed that way.

Good idea & you won't need to give any notice to EE or indeed talk to them at all. The switch process will take care of it all.

Yes I am. Should I wait until contract ends to not incur any charges or will the switch automatically be in 14 days?
