EE Proposed speeds slower than current BT

Hi there, my current contract is up with BT and i was looking at renewing but getting moved over to EE however, when running the checker i'm being offered slower speeds.

Current on BT is

50 - 56 Mbps

16 - 18 Mbps upload

46 Mbps guaranteed

EE offering Fibre Essentials 50 with speeds of

45-50 Mbps

8-9 Mbps up

40 Mbps guaranteed

I know its a not a huge difference download wise but he upload is halved?. Are the speeds just estimates or is that what i'll be locked at?

@GazT811 So you are aware until the picture you posted is cleared for viewing and no personal details are on it, then will take a look see, EE and BT are close to the same speed's but it is all about what you are getting just now, facts and figures are fine, it's the practical on the line that matters nothing else! Have linked an EE page but Fibre 67 if they still are doing it is your closest match for match.

Aren't you being offered Fibre Essentials 67 or 74 which will be closer to your BT plan?

No, the only packages that comes back in the results is essentials 50 or essentials 36

@GazT811 Waiting list will be the problem for you with the BT to EE change, are you using or keeping an existing landline phone connection? Also are you having the contact done through BT to move you to EE and not trying to do something else etc like applying because out off contract to go to EE that way!

No, I’ll be using the remove the home phone option as never used it with BT.

@GazT811 The best way for the BT to EE move is to have BT do it all for you, and if they also agree to, what is your current speed's like as the BTW has you on a full 80/20Mb/s speed split and way up there on a good line! Your Green street cabinet must be real close to your home!
