I have just been moved over from BT to EE having just renewed my Broadband contract. On Monday 20-Oct I got a message and email from EE saying my first bill was ready. The next day I got a message and email from BT saying my bill was ready. BT took a direct debt on 17-Oct. Logged into EE and saw that they plan to take the first direct debit around the 28-Oct. So how does that work? Why is the direct debit date not the same day of the month as when I paid BT? I understand its all the same company?

So far its not a great experience and nothing has changed at my end (router...).

Hi @Brookmatic,

Welcome to the EE Community

When you move from BT to EE, you will have a final BT bill produced and a first EE bill. The first EE bill will be produced 4 days after your service goes live and the payment would be taken 8 days after the bill is produced.

BT and EE are separate companies both under the BT Group and do work on separate billing systems. You can amend the direct debit date for your bills if there is another date you prefer for future bills.

Things have changed at your end. Your BB is now supplied by EE, not BT. They are separate ISPs.

That is exactly what has happened. It would have been nice to know beforehand. It was not until I logged into my old BT account and downloaded the last Bill that I saw a refund was due to me.

All this information could have improved my experience of renewing and transferring to EE.
