So it will only work if its wired direct to the modem and not the Wi-Fi extender,

You will see their clause they guarantee to the modem and not Wi-Fi.

Try net working cable direct one to the first main modem and to a speed test.,

Then go to the extender and wire it straight through a net work cable and see what you get.

Id be grateful if you did this as I have received my Wi-Fi SW40J thinking to x-out the headaches and just give it back,

Can you confirm your speed please.

Thanks 7ux_78

Hi, I have my main router (Smart Hub SH40J) on the ground floor. On the 1st floor the wifi extender (SW40J). And on the 2nd floor the PS5 Pro.

On the PS5, when searching for WiFi on 2.4Ghz, it shows strong signal for my WiFi on the Wireless SSID list (as its showing the closer extender) and once connected to it, in the EE app it shows connected to the extender.

But When I search for WiFi connection on the 5Ghz or 6Ghz bandwidth, it shows poor signal on the WiFi list, and once connected to my WiFi, in the EE app it shows I'm connected to the main router.

I cant find any way to change the WiFi device it connects to in the app.

i’ve restarted everything, but it looks like the extender is not providing 5 or 6 Ghz bandwidth.

I cant find any way to change this.

can anyone help?

hi,

I followed the instructions to set it up. As it wasn’t working i reset it and followed the process on the EE app. it was pretty much the same as your process but without a network cable, instead making use of the WPS button.

still nothing.

I wonder if there are some teething issues 🤔

You can probably download a Wi-Fi scanning app that will tell you for certain if the extender is broadcasting a 5/6GHz signal e.g. for Android, this is a good option.
