Hi XRay, I do mean broadband & it's the router that seemingly is causing the issue.

My EE BB plan is Essentials: Fibre 67. The router is a Smart Hub SH31B and I don't have any WiFi extenders. Router connected into a openreach Master Socket 5C

Today for no known reason our WiFi disconnected. We did the usual steps to reset and connection was made again which lasted a couple of minutes and disconnected. We have now reset the router and modem multiple times and are still unable to maintain a connection for longer than a couple of minutes. Completely frustrating. Has anyone experienced this?

I take it that by saying "WiFi" you mean Broadband & it was the router that discon'ed from it.

What is the name of the EE BB plan are you on including its speed? Which EE router & WiFi extenders, if any, do you have (read label or post a pix)?

Hi Jim, the model is a Smart Hub SH31B and once the connection is lost, a solid green light is all that appears on the router.

Locate the hidden test socket that is revealed when you remove the bottom half of the split faceplate (2 screws or press tabs) of your master socket. Only do this if you have a split faceplate. Do you have any extension sockets in the home even if unused? Are there any wires connected to back of faceplate of master socket?

Only if you have an active landline, try the BT Quiet Line Test (QLT), dial 17070 Opt 2, preferably with a corded phone, in the test socket with the router disconnected. If there is any noise, report it to your landline provider as a voice fault (don't mention Broadband). Often sorting out voice faults will fix the Broadband as well.

Reboot the router & plug it into the test socket using a DSL dangly micro-filter. Post the full router stats & System Uptime when plugged into test socket.

Is the issue any better?
