And what is the package you are being offered to renew?

If it is All Rounder or Full Works (which it sounds like based on the price), check again within your last 30 days and if it is still saying the same give them a call and see what they can do for the Essentials package.

You could try giving them a call sooner as the recontracting window can sometimes run up to 90 days before the end of the minimum term, but definitely worth doing in your last 30 days.

Broadband has gotten expensive! So currently at £41.25 a month 67mbps. Contract ends November 2025. New customers are offered £27.99 for same speed, but renewal for me is £45. I get discounts on 5 sim only contracts, but that’s inflated as before broadband I still had good deals and could gift data. Anyone else have this dilemma?

Also sister company BT offers a switch for £27.99.

Are you only being offered an All Rounder or Full Works package? If so, and you want an Essentials package, it would be worth calling them in the last 30 days of your minimum term.

What package are you currently on? If it is an All Rounder or Full Works package you would lose any of the benefits associated with it by moving to Essentials which can be seen here: https://ee.co.uk/content/dam/help/terms-and-conditions/broadband/plans/ee-essentials-all-rounder-and-full-works-broadband-plans.pdf

Currently no deals other than an increase in package, so re contracting window is open but not for a deal or a price reduction. I think as most people would agree that the new customer offering is far stronger than existing customers. I think loyalty is forgotten when you’ve been a customer for over 15 years.

We are in a slightly worse place. We moved to EE in Jan from BT on a 24 month deal(which was problematic), at that time no fibre was available. Then in March fibre was installed in our village out of the blue, we tried to upgrade and they want to charge £48.99 year 1 and £52.99 year 2!! Only £32.99 for new customers though!. No flexibility or options when other isp’s eg Sky are moving neighbours over for only £27. Wish we had never moved to EE and plan to leave at the earliest opportunity

Hi we are currently paying £41.99 which is still too high compared to what’s being offered to new customers and what’s being offered to existing customer with other ISP’s. What we were paying isn’t really relevant, however the local community have been comparing prices and we have become aware that EE charges are high. It is not unreasonable to expect that if new fibre technology is installed existing customers should get a fair deal

@Mick537 All off the Broadband ISP's work the same business model as a new customer you get the price applied but it can be heavily discounted as a new customer for the 24month introductory period and after this you go to paying the full price, so the only way to get lower is select a new isp every period, or see if the ISP is prepared to reduce at the end to keep you as a customer, which many will NOT do after the 24months are over.

EE are one that has many tiers to there packages, from basic to fully blown with all the bells and whistles included with varying prices, so you do have to compare like for like. FFTP does not automatically have a newer lower price because off the Technology involved, and some off the low prices that are offered by altnet's do skew the starting price as they are getting very desperate for the return to the investment that they have laid out My FF500 with sky is £49 at the end of next year from the current payment at £32.
