topic Adding EE broadband as a new mobile customer in Broadband & Landline

Hi,

Planning to get both new broadband and mobile, I switched my mobile contract to EE yesterday without realising that if I’d done broadband first, then I could have got a really good discount on my mobile contract if I’d combined the two. Is there any way to get this switched?
Also, I’m currently with BT (900mbps) for my broadband but out of contract. Aware that EE are in the process of taking over a lot of BT broadband stuff, so is this likely to affect me getting a good deal with EE? The other option is Sky, but I’d prefer to stick with either EE or BT if I can get a reasonable price.

Thanks!

Any transfer of your BB from BT to EE while still in contract with BT should be done thro' your BT a/c so that you won't be liable for exit fees. However you will be transferred to near like-for-like features & cost. This will likely be dearer than what would you get coming to EE as a new cust.

Thanks for the quick reply - is that still the case if I'm out of contract with BT?

I tried selecting the move to EE link from my BT account, and the price it suggested was eye-watering compared to the deals being offered to new customers (£90 per month vs £40 for 900Mbps broadband).

If that's the only 'deal' I can get from EE then I guess I'll have to switch to Sky (which is not what I want to do).

Sorry, I meant to say that this was while you were in contract with BT. Have now edited it so.

You could try just applying directly to EE as if a new cust.

Great, thanks - so best option is to apply as a new customer. I can definitely try that route.

If not cancel your EE Mobile contact asap!

Just seems a little crazy that I should need to do that.

Thanks @Matt_124 , those look like the same plans as the standard EE mobile ones. Seems like the main difference is that there’s a discount applied for combining them with Broadband (I’d signed up for the All Rounder plan at £29 and it looks like this would only be £23.50 when combined with broadband, with the added advantage of it being on a 1-month rolling term).

Definitely looks like I should cancel and apply again for the whole lot since it’ll be a better deal overall.

I have family with EE in the same area and the main reason I’m moving to EE is that they get a much better mobile signal than I do with O2 🙂
